About TPS

The story behind Boulder's favorite women's golf group.

"What does TPS stand for?"

TPS. We wear the name with pride. What started as an inside joke became a rallying cry for ~30 women who love golf, love Colorado, and refuse to take themselves too seriously.

From Spreadsheets to Scorebook

For years, TPS have been running week to week with a set of Google Sheets that tracked every handicap, every pairing, every payout. They built that system by hand, and it worked.

This platform was born from those spreadsheets. Every formula, every column, every rule Ro maintained faithfully — it's all here now, just in a different form. The scorebook is new; the data and the care behind it aren't.

Who We Are

TPS is a women's traveling golf group based in Boulder, Colorado. About 30 women golfers who share a love for the game, friendly competition, and Thursday afternoons on the course. Ro Troia keeps the whole operation running week to week.

We're not a country club. We don't have a home course. Every week we play somewhere new — rotating across several different Golf Courses along Colorado's Front Range, from Boulder to Longmont, Lafayette to Loveland, and everywhere in between.

How It Works

Every Thursday

May through October. Rain or shine, we tee it up. Around 24 women play each week.

24 Courses

We rotate across courses along the Front Range. No two weeks at the same place back-to-back.

Weekly Payouts

Low Net by flight, Game of the Day, and chip-in pots. $1/player/week per pot keeps it fun and competitive.

Flight Groups

Players grouped by GHIN handicap index into flights for fair competition across all skill levels.

The Vibe

TPS is competitive, but it's not stuffy. We track handicaps, run real games, and pay out real money — but the best part of every Thursday is the people. The post-round drink. The group text when someone drains a 30-footer. The carpool banter.

Skill levels range from single-digit handicappers to beginners still finding their swing. What matters isn't your score — it's that you show up, play fast, and have a good time.

The Season

Our 2026 season kicks off May 7th at Saddleback and runs every Thursday through October. That's roughly 24 rounds of golf across the most beautiful courses on Colorado's Front Range.

Each week features:

  • Low Net competition by flight — the bread and butter of TPS scoring
  • Game of the Day — 30+ different fun games playing gross scores
  • Chip-in pot — chip it in from off the green and you're splitting the pot
  • Live scoring — one scorer per foursome, results posted in real time

The Founding Mothers

TPS was started in 2011 by a small group of women who wanted something different from their golf experience. These seven set the tone from day one: competitive but social, structured but personal.
